Permanent Roles

The company is expanding its product development team and require an Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer to work with colleagues in HW Development and Test to bring products to market.

Skills and experience:
  • 5 years programming experience in a product development environment with 2 years Embedded C/C++ on microcontrollers such as PIC, Atmel SAM/AVR or similar
  • Ethernet networking programming experience including TCP/IP, UDP, Sockets
  • Inter processor communications programming such as Serial, I2C, SPI
  • Ability to optimise algorithms for time and or code space constraints
  • Some team lead experience desirable
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have degree or equivalent qualification in Software Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience of Sparc Ada and security product development is a distinct advantage
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team building quality products
  • Design, implement and unit test product features
  • Integrate SW modules with prototype and production HW
  • Create, review and maintain technical specifications
  • Work with the HW and Test teams on beta and production releases

  • 5 years digital prototype PCB design and construction experience with 2 years PIC or Atmel (or similar) Microcontroller design experience
  • Design experience of storage interfaces such as eMMC/IDE/ATA/SATA
  • Design experience of networking/communications including PHY/IC2/SPI/Serial.
  • Design experience for EMC and CE/RoHS compliance
  • Familiarity with PCB layout software

  • Have degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering

Student Industrial Placements

The company is expanding its product development team and require industrial placement students with some experience in software, hardware or system testing to work along side engineers working in the permanent roles above.

GENERAL COMPETENCIES:
